Who is eligible for innovateCHINA Challenge? innovateCHINA Global Innovation Challenge welcomes all full-time, part-time and executive MBA students to compete. |
How should I form my team to compete? Variety is the key here. You can form a team of a maximum of three (3) members with other candidates in the same or different business schools, preferably with different specializations to create a dynamic team profile. |
Can I form a team with people from other business schools? Yes, multi-school teams are allowed. But all team members should only be current MBA students. |
How many teams from my school can compete? There is no limit to the number of teams per business school, but having more teams would definitely increase your school's chances of making it to the final round. |
How should I / my team register? Registration should be done by filling in the registration form available at www.innovatechinachallenge.com/register.html, download the registration form, and send completed registration form to register@innovatechinachallenge.com before 23:59 18th April (Beijing time, GMT+8). You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours after you register. |
Can I change my team members? Each team can change / substitute / add / delete members ONLY once prior to the deadline for registration via email request. The organizing team will reply the request by an approval email. Once registration deadline passes, no changes will be allowed. No team may enter more than once; no entrant may compete on more than one team. |
What is the Non-Disclosure Agreement? All teams are requested to agree upon the Non-Disclosure Agreement during registration to protect the confidentiality of the sponsor companies who have agreed to provide you with high-quality background information on their company, their market, and their strategy, which are helpful to build up your innovative solutions to our challenges. This information must be used only in the context of your efforts in the challenge, and we must prohibit its use elsewhere. We therefore require you to be aware of the confidentiality by agreeing upon the Non-Disclosure Agreement. |
How will I receive the question? The question will be emailed to you in a full package on 21st April 2008. |
May we contact the sponsoring companies directly? No. All communications with the sponsors will be entertained through the innovateCHINA organizing committee. |
What are the deliverables for Round 1? A 10-page PDF document containing the following elements:Page 1 - Cover page with your team name, team member names and your Question. Page 2-4 - a 3-page plan in PDF format in response to your assigned question. Page 5-10 ¡V 2-page CV of all (3) members of your team. |
How much time do we have to submit our Solution? Each registered team must email their Solution to submission@innovatechinachallenge.com by submitting your concept plan online, from one team member's workspace, by April 28th 2008. |
What will the final round involve? Based on the results of Round 1, the top 3 teams from each question will be invited to attend the final round in Shanghai during the last day of the Being Globally Responsible Conference (BGRC) hosted by CEIBS on from June 5th to 8th, 2008. In the Final Round, the 9 finalist teams will work on the Grand Challenge presented by the Platinum Sponsor. Each team will give a live 15 minutes presentation followed by a 5-minute question and answer session. |
How many teams will attend the finals? The top three teams from each Question will be invited to attend the finals. |
Who pays for travel to the final round? Thanks to the support of our sponsors, innovateCHINA will subsidize half of the air travel for the finalists, up to the maximum of US$500. 3 night's accommodation will also be provided. |
Who makes the Innovation Challenge Questions? Sponsoring companies would work with CSR consultants and faculty advisors to frame the challenge questions in order to be truly practical while maintaining the innovative value. |
How will our challenge question be assigned? Sponsor questions will be announced after registration and before April 7th possible more choices will be given for teams to choose. While we will try our best to assign questions according to the preference of each team, it is not guaranteed that all teams will be assigned the most preferred questions, in consideration of the balance with the number of teams competing in each question. |
May I use information other than the Sponsor Background Information that is provided to me? Yes, you may. The Sponsor Background Information is provided to ensure a level playing field for all contestants, and to build a general awareness of the sponsor's product / service / industry. You may also find some information about any initiatives that our sponsors may have taken to address the question at hand. We strongly urge you to read those documents to avoid duplication of efforts. |
